Now is the time
I am REALLY trying hard this time to get
a real good, proper and professional work rhythm.
Which means: No more empty-headed internet browsing
for hours and hours, no more slacking, no more wasting
two thirds of the day. I am trying to get more
passionate about drawing. Good old Bobby Chiu
is right - you can´t wait for things to grab you
by the ears. Really getting into the groove
of things takes dedication, something
I´ve been lethargically avoiding for
far too long already.
And you MUST check out Nora Krug,
a german illustrator who is also very
successful in the US. I have to say that I don´t
get inspired by other`s work very often,
but this stuff really set me on fire.
Ah, a new idol! That always feels great.

Ok, this is officially weird. I've been doing a piece with a figure skater on it for a while, a few days ago I saw Ariel's drawing of the subject, and now you! Maybe it's the season. But seriously, these things seem to happen. Some theme just seems to appear in many artist's work simultaneously, it's one of those things you can't explain.
I like the drawing a lot, especially the colours. The blue is refreshing.
I'm trying to get more disciplined with my drawing too, but I'm not quite ready to give up my empty-headed internet-browsing yet..
You were right about Nora Krug, amazing stuff!
Dude, love that figure skater! You have a great sense to your work.
And just want to remind you of a quote from the ever wise Yoda: "Do or not do. There is no try."
Frederik, you probably use design vellum? :)
I know what you mean wasting 2/3 of your day doing nothing... I am a designer but I work in an office environment with tight dealines all the time, so that gives me structure and discipline. But you do need those time when you are able to do nothing... i think just keep drawing and don't force it. A force idea never comes out good...
PS: That Nora Krug is great! Thanks for sharing! :)
The world is too full of talent.
